Had great stay for one night and the weather was quite warm. The standard king room we stayed in was stylish with most things usually found in accommodation. The setting was unbeatable, just off the pub right next door lots of parking lovely out side, the Lake District and the bar / restaurant.
Shame the bathroom was a little tired.

Great friendly atmoshere, superb value. Food was tasty, plentiful and cheap, a good combination! Also pet friendly, with a couple of the owner's dogs padding around the lounge.
Hot water supply could be better.

This is my second visit to The Oak. Just as good this time as the last time. Room really clean and tidy. Delicious breakfasts and also had meals in the evening which were just as good. Staff were really friendly and lovely coal file to sit next to!

Not worth the hype!
We were initially drawn in by the pretty exterior, but then we hit a wall with loads of dirt in our room. Seriously, hair and dust everywhere! The worst part was a shower that only gave boiling water. Plus, we got told off for just chillin' in the garden, even though we're guests. Only decent part was the chips. Won't come back.

The breakfast was excellent and Sunday lunch was good value.
two ceiling corners were occupied by spider`s webs with dead insects in the webs. The toilet roll had only several sheets remaining and there was not a spare! thank goodness the box of tissues in the bathroom The electric heaters were not guest friendly.

Good location for stock car meeting at Brandon Coventry. Late night bar. Food good breakfast.
Could not have a drink after meeting as there was no milk in room and everything was locked up downstairs. No spare toilet paper and only 10% on roll being used. Wet room floor covering was ripped and water would not drain away properly. Back of hotel was in need of improvement and updating.
